Little Fell is a typical Lake District holiday cottage UK sleeping up to 5 people in comfortable self catering accommodation. The cottage is a typical Lakeland stone built mid-terrace, originally a slate quarry workers' home, and set in a beautiful rural location.

The Lake District holiday cottage is in the heart of the idyllic valley of Little Langdale with walks to the river, fells and tarns starting on the doorstep. Perfectly located in the centre of the Lake District yet far from the madding crowd.

About the cottage

Downstairs

Downstairs there is an attractive, fully equipped kitchen with modern cooker, ceramic hob, microwave, toaster and kettle. Pine table with seating for 5 (or 4 plus high chair). A small lobby leads to the downstairs bathroom and the lounge. The new bathroom comprises a bath with electric shower over, toilet and wash basin. The lounge has an open fire with 2 large leather sofas, flat-screen TV with digital freeview and DVD player. There is a selection of local walks books, games and general fiction. The lounge looks across the lane into the pine wood opposite. There is a bench and sitting area at the front of the cottage.

Accommodation

A steep staircase leads to the three bedrooms upstairs. The main bedroom has spectacular views over the valley towards Wetherlam and features a large iron bedstead. A single room and a twin room at the front of the cottage overlook the woods and fields on the other side of the lane.

Outside

At the rear of the cottage is an outhouse which houses a spare fridge freezer and a washing machine. There is a clothes line in the yard at the back of the cottage or in the outhouse. There is also lots of space for bike storage in the outhouse.

Additional Information

Parking is on the lane adjacent to the row of cottages.

In low and mid season, we're pleased to offer short breaks, either arriving on Friday and departing Monday morning, or Monday arrival departing Friday morning. The cottage is available from 4pm on day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on departure day.

Please note there is no telephone at Little Fell Cottage, and mobile reception is patchy, so we recommend you ask any potential callers to leave a message at the Inn. There is a public telephone at the Inn or 200 metres away in the village. Free Wifi is available at the Inn for cottage residents.

The Local Area

The valleys of Great and Little Langdale are renowned for spectacular scenery and challenging walks direct from the cottage. Little Langdale has both high and low level walks, and children can have much fun playing and swimming in the river at Slater's Bridge. The famous Cathedral Cave and Slater's Bridge are 15 minutes stroll away and the Three Shires Inn is only 5 minutes walk for excellent real ales and superb food.

The Lake District has many houses, lakes, boat trips as well as cycle trails and walking routes to keep you entertained at any time of year.
