Little Fell Cottage
Little Fell is a typical Lake District holiday cottage UK sleeping up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children in comfortable self catering accommodation. The cottage is a typical Lakeland stone built mid-terrace, originally a slate quarry workers’ home, and set in a beautiful rural location.
The Lake District holiday cottage is in the heart of the idyllic valley of Little Langdale with walks to the river, fells and tarns starting on the doorstep. Perfectly located in the centre of the Lake District yet far from the madding crowd.
About the cottage
Downstairs there is an attractive, fully equipped kitchen with modern cooker, induction hob, dish washer, microwave, toaster and kettle. (new kitchen March 2018). Pine table with seating for 4 (or 4 plus high chair). A small lobby leads to the downstairs bathroom and the lounge. The bathroom comprises a bath with electric shower over, toilet and wash basin. The lounge has an open fire with 2 large leather sofas, flat-screen TV with digital freeview and DVD player. There is a selection of local walk books, games and general fiction. The lounge looks across the lane into the pine wood opposite. There is a bench and sitting area at the front of the cottage.
A steep staircase leads to the three bedrooms upstairs. The main bedroom has spectacular views over the valley towards Wetherlam and features a large iron bedstead. A single room and a small twin room at the front of the cottage overlook the woods and fields on the other side of the lane.
At the rear of the cottage is an outhouse which houses a spare fridge freezer and a washing machine. There is a clothes line in the yard at the back of the cottage or in the outhouse. There is also lots of space for bike storage in the outhouse.
Parking is on the lane adjacent to the row of cottages.
In low and mid season, we are pleased to offer short breaks, either arriving on Friday and departing Monday morning, or Monday arrival departing Friday morning.
The cottage is available from 4pm on day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on departure day.
Please note there is no telephone at Little Fell Cottage and mobile reception is patchy, though the cottage does have wifi.
One small dog is welcome by arrangement for an extra charge of £25.00.
Prices to stay in Little Fell Cottage start from £495 pw in low season rising to £750 pw during peak times.

The Local Area
The valleys of Great and Little Langdale are renowned for spectacular scenery and challenging walks direct from the cottage. Little Langdale has both high and low level walks, and children can have much fun playing and swimming in the river at Slater's Bridge. The famous Cathedral Cave and Slater's Bridge are 15 minutes stroll away and the Three Shires Inn is only 5 minutes walk for excellent real ales and superb food.
The Lake District has many houses, lakes, boat trips as well as cycle trails and walking routes to keep you entertained at any time of year.

The Langdale area of the Lake District is world renowned for outdoor activities including mountain biking, fell walking and climbing.
With beautiful Lakes throughout the region you'll find lake cruises, steam trains and a wide variety of attractions such as Beatrix Potter's house and John Ruskin's home on the shores of Coniston Water.
On the doorstep you'll find the Three Shires Inn - a typical Lakeland Inn. A little further in Ambleside you'll find a wide range of restaurants and cafes.
A short drive from Little Fell are 2 well known National Trust sites with accessible walks; Blea Tarn and Tarn Hows.
